The letter צ and Pesach Sheini

Today, as part of our unit on the letters צ and ץ, we learned many new words with צ, one of them being צב, a turtle.  We then brought in a turtle and each child had a chance to pet and hold the צב (turtle)!!! They just loved playing with the turtle!! As well, we learned many verbs with the letter צ in it, such as צובע (to color) and מצייר (to draw).  After learning these verbs, the class had to listen to instructions in Ivrit on what they should draw and color.  I was so impressed to see how well the students understood and how they were able to follow instructions completely in Ivrit!!

Additionally, being that yesterday was Pesach Sheini, the class learned all about Pesach Sheini and how it's a second chance, and were all treated to some matza. Thank you to Duvi Alevy's grandmother for donating matza for the entire first grade!
